Introducing "Freeda"......

She is a 1975 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper Van.

Our client purchased Freeda from the original owner about 20 years ago.

We performed a basic inspection to the front and rear brakes, suspension and steering components.

Freeda will require work to her rear brakes, rear axle seals(leaking), and rear axle boots(torn).

Freeda's compression test (both wet and dry) showed us that she is ready for a rebuild. The pistons, rings and pots will be replaced along with a new "German quality" gasket set. We will also have the heads redone.

The machine shop examined the heads and replaced the exhaust valves and guides. The rebuilt heads were returned to our shop.

We removed Freeda's engine, and began the disassembly and ordered the required parts needed to make her motor like new again.

The engine block and all of the engine components were degreased, cleaned and re painted. A new piston, piston ring set and cylinder pots were replaced with new. All new German Quality gasket set was installed where needed.

The oil cooler was also replaced. After the re assembly of the motor and its components, the muffler and tailpipe was degreased, cleaned, sandblasted and treated to 3 coats of special high heat exhaust manifold paint.

A replacement flywheel was located (a VERY hard item to find, no reproductions are available for this model year only). A new clutch disc, pressure plate and release bearing was also installed.

All new high pressure fuel injection supply hoses and special clamps were also installed.

We installed the rebuilt motor back into the engine bay, broke in the rebuilt motor and took it on several small road tests.

Freeda received new front brake pads, new rear brakes along with new axle seals and a new rear axle boot.

She is now ready for many more years of fun travel.....
