Here is quite a rare vehicle, a 1959 MGA Roadster.

This was an interesting car to work on. It had several previous poorly done repairs and painted an incorrect colour.

The partially disassembled car was trailered to us to perform the body and paint work.

An incredible amount of body filler was used on this MGA. When all of the fillers and countless layers of paint and primer was removed from the panels, it exposed all of the previous body damage that was not properly repaired.

All of the dents and damage was just covered up with filler.

Once the complete body and its panels were sanded down to bare metal, the "tricky" areas were media blasted.

Many hours were spent with hammer and dolly to straighten the badly shaped panels. Some areas were so far out of correct shape, we needed to apply heat to certain areas and hammer and dolly those areas to shrink the badly stretched metal.

With all of the panels reshaped, the complete car received a special two part black epoxy to seal and protect the metal.

A grey high build primer was applied next. Many hours of block sanding and body smoothing continued until the car was ready for its proper factory "Old English White" paint finish.

All of the panels (fenders, hood, trunk lid, doors) were dry fitted to the body several times during the block sanding and smoothing to ensure proper panel alignment later.

Accessories were also dry fitted (new aftermarket front grille and new aftermarket luggage rack) to ensure proper fit.

The used optional hard top (found from an old red MGA) was also prepared and painted to match the car.

After the car was painted the factory correct Old English White, the doors and all four fenders were fitted to the car and sent away for final reassembly.

It was quite a nice car!
