This is quite a nice Custom Volkswagen Beetle called "Wicked VW"

Wicked is a newer Mexican Beetle that was built on a 1966 VW chassis. It originally had a Mexican fuel injected 1600 dual port engine.

Our client had the engine removed, and had Leduc Racing in Michigan build a "Race Ready", High Output 1915 cc motor.

It has dual Weber carbs, ceramic exhaust and a long list of performance upgrades. The build quality of the engine was exceptional!

After the engine was completed (along with a custom built transmission) the powertrain was shipped to a company in Toronto to have the new drive line installed, and the brakes upgraded.

The car was at the facility in Toronto for several months. After experiencing a number of installation issues Wicked's owner removed her from the Toronto facility & brought her to Last Chance Auto Restore.com

Wicked was not running properly when she was driven off the trailer. It sounded like she was running on 2 or 3 cylinders, and a dark fluid was leaking through the ceramic exhaust system seams. She did not have enough power to be driven into our "spa", she had to be pushed in.

"Wicked" will be receiving some pampering while she is here.

Along with getting her engine running correctly, Wicked will have the external oil filter relocated, engine bay enhanced, interior sound insulation installed, along with 2 coats of POR15 anti rust paint. A new custom interior, including upgraded guages and stereo work will also be performed.

Update...After the engine was removed, we determined that Wicked was getting too much fuel and the valves were not adjusted correctly. These are all issues with the installer...NOT the engine build.

An electronic fuel pump was added when the engine was installed, but without a fuel pump regulator! The upgraded Weber dual carbs require between 1.5 to 2 p.s.i. The engine was getting too much fuel which was creating a "fluid leak" through the exhaust pipes. We ordered a "Holley" fuel pressure regulator along with a new "VDO" pressure guage.

One of the Dual Weber carbs was also defective. We replaced the faulty carb with a brand new one.

We inspected the engine, re torqued the bolts and also adjusted the valves properly. The ceramic and chrome parts were degreased and cleaned and re assembled.

Here is a short You Tube video on Wicked's motor running after the corrections.....
